What is Misfit Mountain?
Misfit Mountain is a no-kill animal rescue that serves Western North Carolina and beyond. It is best known for its summer camp program, which temporarily houses animals belonging to people going through hardships like addiction, homelessness, or a domestic violence crisis.
Its work was crucial in the wake of Hurricane Helene, when so many people and animals were displaced.
"We focus on helping animals with either behavior or medical issues or just that need extra time and patience that they might not get in an overcrowded shelter," said Misfit Mountain founder Printer McIntosh.
Who is The Riverside?
